Roofing Work for Homes and Properties Across Liverpool
Your roof is made up of several connected components, and a problem in one area can often affect another.
A missing tile may expose the underlay beneath. Failed flashing can allow water to enter around a chimney. Damaged gutters can direct water back towards the roofline, while deterioration to a flat roof can affect the deck and structure below.
Our team assesses the wider condition of the affected area before recommending the work required.
From localised repairs and maintenance to more extensive roof restoration and replacement, we provide roofing services tailored to the condition and construction of the property.
How to Choose the Right Roofing Service
In short: start with what you can see and how urgent it is. Water coming through a ceiling needs making safe first, a slipped tile or loose ridge on an otherwise sound roof usually needs a targeted repair, and a roof that keeps failing in different places is worth assessing for replacement. If you are unsure, an inspection is a sensible first step.
| What you have noticed | Where to start |
|---|---|
| Water coming in during rain, or damage after high winds | Emergency roofing or storm damage roof repairs |
| A ceiling stain that grows after heavy rain | Roof leak repair, tracing the entry point first |
| Slipped tiles, broken slates or mortar falling from the ridge | Roof repairs, including ridge and valley work |
| Damp around a chimney breast or where the roof meets a wall | Chimney stack repairs and leadwork |
| A leaking garage, extension or dormer roof | Flat roofing in felt, EPDM or GRP |
| A survey has flagged the roof, or you are buying a house | Roof inspections |
You do not need to pick the right category before you call. Tell us what you have seen and we will suggest whether an inspection, a repair visit or an urgent make-safe is the right starting point.
Repair or Replace? Questions Worth Asking
A few slipped tiles are rarely a reason for a new roof. The harder decisions involve roofs that are ageing but still mostly weathertight, and these questions help to settle them:
- How often has it needed attention? An occasional repair is normal maintenance. A new fault after every storm, each time in a different place, suggests the fixings or covering are wearing out.
- What does the loft show? Sound felt and battens favour repair. Brittle, torn felt or rotten battens across the roof point towards renewal.
- Is scaffolding going up anyway? If access is needed for a chimney or new fascias, renewing a tired slope at the same time can avoid paying for access twice.
- What are your plans for the house? Solar panels, roof windows or a loft conversion added to a roof that will soon need replacing may have to come off again later.
- Is only one slope affected? A rear slope or outrigger that takes the worst of the weather can sometimes be re-covered on its own.
Our roof repairs page covers targeted work on a sound roof, and roof replacement covers full and partial re-roofing.
